HISTORY OF THE SPORTS CLUB

ARTICLE MARCH 20, 1974
The English owners of the resort entrusted Jean-Marie MORISSET with the creation and development of the Isola 2000 Ski School and Sports Club.
The ambitious Sports Club recruited a renowned coach in its first year: André DOUX, a former member of the French national team.
Following in his footsteps, Christiane and Sophie RAY, then members of the French national teams, joined the Sports Club.
Christiane had represented France at the World Championships in St. Moritz in 1974.
These high-level racers inspired a lot of emulation and vocations.
Between 1975 and 1980, the Isola 2000 Sports Club had two members in the French national team: Sophie CAPRIO and Luc MORISSET, who was selected for the World Championships in Garnish in 1978 and was French Giant Slalom Champion in 1980.
The 1980s saw the emergence of another talent: Jean-Marc MARI, French Junior Combined Champion in 1988.
Renaud ROCHER then achieved good results in the European Cup a few years before Mathieu FAIVRE, 20, member of the French national team, whose young career already includes the following achievements (non-exhaustive list):
– 2010 Junior World Champion in Giant Slalom
– 2010 French Champion in Slalom
– 2011 – 3rd in the Junior World Championships in Giant Slalom
– 2011 French Super Combined Champion
– 2012 Winner of a European Cup event
– 2012 French Junior Champion in Giant Slalom and Slalom
