Free screening: ‘Mercantour sous nos pieds’ at Isola 2000 cinema

Ciné 2000, the Isola 2000 cinema, hosts the screening of the documentary film Mercantour sous nos pieds, a touching story that follows the extraordinary adventure of middle school students from Collège Les Muriers in Cannes. These young people took on a major challenge: the Great Mercantour Traverse, a multi-day hiking trek connecting the Alpine peaks to the Mediterranean.

 

An award-winning and inspiring film

Winner at the 2025 International Adventure and Travel Film Festival (FIFAV) in La Rochelle, this documentary sensitively captures the essence of a human and collective adventure. Through the grandiose landscapes of Mercantour, the film explores themes of commitment, self-transcendence, and deep connection with nature.

 

An interactive evening

The screening will be followed by a special discussion session with Loïc, the film’s director, and several middle school students who participated in this memorable trek. A chance to discover behind-the-scenes stories and hear testimonies from these young adventurers who lived through this transformative experience.
